Pre-surgical Procedures

This is the first step towards your surgery and consists of an initial appointment with the surgeon and in which the surgeon will make a physical evaluation and will discuss your concerns and expectations prior to your chosen procedures.

Once the appointment finishes, your surgeon will tell you what to do prior to your surgery:

• Mirror Simulation this creates a 3-dimensional image of how you can expect to look after surgery and the recovery period. There is no additional cost for this service.
• Labratory Exams standard lab exams will be performed at our clinic (Monday - Saturday 8am - 9am no appointment necessary). It is important that you do not eat breakfast before this examination.
• Make an appointment at the clinic with our internal medicine specialist; this will include an electrocardiogram (EKG).
• Make an appointment at our clinic with our Anesthesiologist.

Your health before, during and after your procedure is very important to us that is why your appointments with our specialists will determine whether you are an appropriate candidate for your chosen surgical procedure.

• We will schedule your surgery taking into account your needs.

Recommendations for 'before' your surgery

• On the day of your surgery we ask that you don't eat and don't wear make-up on your face or finger nails
• DO NOT take any medication before surgery, unless the doctor has prescribed them.
• For at least 10 days before surgery DO NOT consume medications that contain acetilsalicílico acid such as: Aspirin, Alkaseltzer, Dristan, Asawin y anti-inflamatories such as Motrin, Advil, Naproxen.
• For at lease 15 days before surgery you should DISCONTINUE cigarettes and alcoholic drinks.
