Having completed the chin surgery it is important that you take into account the following recommendations:

 

  • The patient can return home on the same day as the operation.

  • For the first 5 days following the Mentoplasty the patient should only eat liquid foods and use a mouth wash.

  • Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol both of which interfere with the wound recovery.

  • In case of any concerns it is recommended that you consult the surgeon directly rather than consulting other people who may have had chin surgery.

  • The majority of patients can return to normal daily activities as of the 2nd day following chin surgery.

  • Recovery does not happen immediately and the exact recovery period varies from patient-to-patient.

Mentoplasty will take approximately 30 minutes. It doesn't require the stitches to be removed because the wound is closed with a material that will be absorbed by the body.

 

How soon after the procedure can I fly in an airplane?

You can calculate your return flight by taking into account the recommended recovery period for the chin surgery. Once you have communicated your travel itinerary to our client service representative we will provide you with a certificate that states that you have recently undergone an operation. What medication should I take afterwards?
